George John Vergos

On September 10, 2024, George J. Vergos passed away. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria G. Vergos; devoted father of John, his wife Laura, Steve Vergos, his late wife Pamela, Karen, her husband Peter; loving grandfather of Stephanie; cherished great grandfather of Kori Michelle; loving son of the late John and Kyriaki Vergos; dear brother of the late Michael Vergos, his wife Maria, Kaliopi Economidou, and her late husband Alki. George is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in both the United States and Greece.

George fearlessly immigrated from Piriaeus, Greece, and from nothing, built a successful construction business and even better, a beautiful family that he loved dearly. He taught them that with enough determination and hard work, anything can be accomplished. He was known for his endless stories that everyone cherished.

Relatives and friends can gather at Charles S. Zeiler and Son Funeral Home, 6224 Eastern Ave, Baltimore, MD 21224 on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4-6 and 7-9 PM. A Trisagion will be held on Thursday at 7:30 PM, at the funeral home. Visitation at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 520 S. Ponca St., Baltimore MD 21224, will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 10:30-11:00AM, funeral will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
