So sorry you have left us.  Your nephew , my husband loved you like a dad.
Anytime you were going fishing and he could he just couldn’t wait.
He liked being with you and talking fish tales.
You were a good man Alvin. When you get to heaven look for Mike. He will be so happy to see you.

Our prayers and sympathy to the Jones family.  

It brought great sadness to hear the news of the passing of Pa Pa Jones. I talk with Alvin Jones (my grandfather) almost weekly and would hear how he was doing from time to time. I do not have many memories with Pa Pa Jones, but I remember fishing with him many times. He gave me tips and tricks while out on the Bay. He always seemed so content fishing with his son and was happy catching anything out there. What I will remember the most will be when we were done fishing for the day. We had about a 45min boat ride home and me and Pa Pa Jones would sit next to each other and he would have a glass of milk for himself and me. It was always so cold and refreshing. I can remember it like it was yesterday. I am happy Pa Pa Jones is in a better place now and will keep my memories with him forever. I wish I had pictures of these times, but I am happy that everyone here has shared their own pictures for memories. I know, Blanca Jones, recently met with Pa Pa Jones before the passing and hearing the news devastated her. We all hurt and I am glad this page is here for everyone to share the memories.

   Although we will miss you, we can find peace and joy in knowing that you are reunited with family members that have been waiting for you. You left enough wonderful memories to keep everyone supplied until they see you again. Because we and you  liked the enjoyment of road travel across the US, some of our cherished memories are hearing you describe some of your many road trips. We will share with everyone Uncle Al's tips for a great road trip
Tip#1: Absolutely  no maps allowed
Tip#2: Only travel on the back roads
Tip#3: Even though you are in the middle of nowhere and are not sure where you are,  have absolute confidence that the road you are on will take you where you want to be at the end of the day
Tip# 4: Sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery that God has created

My friend, my favorite , Uncle Al. 
Many memories , from the fishing trips to Wachapreague, the cross country trip and just the great stories he had of his travels and from days gone by . He was a true Jones. One of a kind. He will be surely be missed, however I’m sure he is  now experiencing a grand reunion with His family. 
A life well lived, see you Uncle Al when my time on earth is through and I too am called home to meet Jesus.

He was the best dad, that’s for sure. Absolutely one of a kind.

Pop was such an integral part of all of our lives, you could never pick one fond memory. There are countless times we shared a glass of milk and listened to the Orioles play ball, fishing trips, stories by the hundreds. He was always there no matter what, when or how. He’s the true measure of a man, a father and so much more. I will miss him everyday but could not Imagine my life without him. RIP and pray for us until it’s our time to join you in Glory. 

There are so many memories to share it’s hard to pick just one. A story I remember him telling me often is when him and aunt marcie were in Lancaster she had her eye on a piece of furniture she liked but it was too expensive. He said he waited for her to walk away, paid the guy for the piece and had them load it up. When she noticed it was sold, he told her he bought it for her. Of course she was elated. That’s the guy he was. He was so generous and so kind and he loved so many people. I will truly miss him. 

Always will remember when we first married we met you and Marcie.  What wonderful memories and thoughts of living in the apartment below Marcie.  Especially when you broke the jar of pennies and they rolled over the hard wood floors,  We being below heard the strange sound and waddle of the pennies.  Will never forget how kind you were to us.
