William Henry Turner Jr. was born in Lubbock, Texas on June 20, 1951 to Mary Alma Turner and William Henry Turner Sr. In the quiet of the morning on April 23, 2015 God sent an Angel to the bed side of William Turner to come home.
William became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Dr. Tyree Tolliver. In his youthful ages he was a part of The Golden Voices where he showed off his talents.
William attended Fremont and Potomac Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and then later graduated from Bakersfield High School. After serving in the Military for a hand full of years, including serving during Vietnam, he reunited with Linda Jenkins whom he had grown up with and known since grade school. On January 30, 1973 William was united in matrimony to Linda Shirley Jenkins and they had two children, William Dontrell Turner and Breonne Nicole Turner. They were married for 42 beautiful years before he decided to go home with the Lord.
William was a hardworking and dedicated man. He worked for several oilfield companies throughout his life. In 2013 he retired form Chevron where he dedicated 20 years of his life. In his spare time he loved to take trips and go fishing with his daughter, family and friends. He loved to travel and oh how he loved working on his cars. Friends and family remember William’s infectious laugh and smile. No matter what he was always willing to help others before himself. We will always miss his crazy sense of humor, loving spirit and outspoken personality.
William was also preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and William Turner Sr., and Brother Reginald “Dee Dee” Turner. He leaves to celebrate his homegoing his wife Linda Turner, his two children William and Breonne Turner, Mother-in-law Pecola Jenkins, Papa’s special babies Omari, Troy Jr., and Markus, all in Bakersfield, CA. His two brothers Vincent Turner and Reo Moore III, of Bakersfield, CA. His baby sister Lita Harris and Brother-in-law William Harris of Inglewood, CA. As well as Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and beloved Friends.
