On March 12, 1977, Wesley Hammon Leach embarked upon his life journey of thirty-eight years. For us, Wesley's parents, it was an incredible honor as we helped navigate him through the daily endeavors and accomplishments that he achieved until January 29, 2016, when Wesley began another sojourn: his after life.
His compassionate efforts helped shape him into the kind and caring man that he was. His quiet humility will help us remember of the loving and attentive soul that he always will be. One testament of his devotion and service to humanity was that he was proudest of the time he served in the United States Army when he assisted the people of Iraq--especially the children.
Wesley had scores of friends and family that loved him deeply and he returned that love tenfold. We have been profoundly moved by the numerous heartwarming tributes to Wesley. These poignant, social media messages could fill a book.
Regarding his pastimes, no matter which league, American or National, he loved the sport that has always defined America: baseball. It captured his undivided attention--especially when the San Francisco Giants won the World Series-- twice.
His good friend and brother, Derik Mitchell, preceded him in his walk in heaven.
Now, Wesley also has found peace. Rest easy our beloved Little Buddy, Son, Brother and Friend. We will all miss you.
Love, Mom, Dad, Brother, Family and Friends.
