Vincent Whipple

Vince was born in Sacramento, California the oldest son of Lois Sidenblad (Anderline). He has two younger brothers Marc and Jason. In 1969 he moved with his family to Bakersfield, California. He graduated from Foothill High School in 1977. Then in 1980 he was hired by Golden State Drilling as a rig hand and was proudly employed with them for 35 years. During his employment he was promoted numerous times and was currently their Drilling Superintendent.

In January of 1983 Vince welcomed his oldest daughter Nancy Christine (Chrissy) into the world. Vince was blessed with a second daughter Cheyenne Lorene in September 2002. He also was a loving stepfather to Shelby Dawn 18. He was the proud grandpa of three grandsons Nathaniel Thomas 14, Devon Anthony 9, Noah Vincent 8, and one granddaughter Desiree Christine 5. During his life Vince was married twice. First he was married to his high school sweetheart Cheryl from 1979 to 1999. Then he was married to Lori from 2001 to 2010 and they rekindled their love in 2013.

Vince loved and lived for both his family and job. He was always a very giving man and was the happiest when he could bring joy into someone else's life. Christmas and birthdays were amazing to say the least. A couple of his favorite activities were helping at the annual GSD Barbecue and deep pitting turkeys every Thanksgiving for many of the employees at Golden State Drilling. Our community was blessed with his lifetime of donations of blood, plasma, and platelets through the Houchin Blood Bank for a total of 12 gallons. His final act of kindness was to be an organ donor.

Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bakersfield, California. Visitation will be Thursday, September 10th from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, September 11th at 10 a.m. in the Hillcrest Memorial Chapel with graveside to follow at Whispering Pines Lawn.

Vince will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. As our hearts find comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord resting in peace, he will forever be our guardian angel. Forever in our hearts and love you always.
