Talmadge Eugene "Gene" Green June 22, 1947 - August 16, 2010 On August 16th our precious Husband, Dad and Silly Ole Papa Bear entered into the arms of Jesus. For 63 years we were blessed to have a man who opened his heart to many, and never hesitated to shower those closest to him with his love. He was happiest when he was able to give of himself. His joys in life were fishing at Balch Park, hunting, resting with his wife at Pismo Beach, western movies (Lonesome Dove), and playing with his dog. Gene loved visiting with friends at Clarks Coffee Shop and Pappy's Restaurant. For years he enjoyed coaching the kids on the Fairfax little league teams. But his greatest joys were spending time with his family whom he loved very much. He was a proud Papa who always had a story to tell about his brave grandson in the Army, his beautiful granddaughter and her softball or his new grandson who was just learning how special his papa was. Then, the love story between him and the love of his life. Through the good and the bad they chose to hold on to one another. Their love grew stronger in the latter days while they proved to each other how deep their love ran. Unconditional and unwavering until she released him into the arms of the Jesus, who could take care of him better than she. Gene was born on June 22, 1947 in Shawnee OK. to Talmadge & Edna Green and went home to be with the Lord on August 16th 2010 in Bakersfield, CA.
