Rosa Maria Rizo was 76 years old when she left us on December 9, 2022, to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Our Ama was born on December 18, 1945, in Candela, Coahuila, Mexico to her parents Ventura De Hoyos and Carlota De Luna. Rosa got married to the lover of her life Rodolfo Montes Rizo in 1965 and they both moved to Bakersfield, CA. in 1972 to raise their family of 6 children. Sadly, her husband passed away in 1995 and although she was widowed at a young age, God blessed her with the strength to care for her entire family until her last breath. She took care of them with everything she had but her favorite love languages were prayer and cooking for her loved ones.
Rosa is survived by her sisters: Menchora, Maria Luisa, Gloria, Juanita, and their families. She is also survived by her 6 children: Jaime, Veronica, Rosita, Rodolfo Jr., Alicia, and Fabian Rizo. From her children, she is survived by her 18 grandchildren: Alexis, Frankie, Jerry, Jayd, Joseph, Jazzily, Journey, ALyssa, Noel, Nicholas, Gabby, Little Fabian, Erik, Derik, Melody, Little Jaime, Sebastian, and Samantha. From her grandchildren, she is survived by her 7 great grandchildren: Celeste, Cali, Kenny, Brandon, Sophia, Areanna, and Ace.
Her viewing will be on December 27th from 4pm-8pm at HIllcrest Memorial Cemetery. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 E. California Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93307, from 10am-11am on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at 11:30 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
Rosa Maria Rizo, our Ama, was a beautiful, strong, and unique soul. She meant the world to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She will truly be missed. We are at peace knowing she is resting EN toda La Gloria De Dios.
