Pam was born December 24, 1943 in Bakersfield, California to Mr. and Mrs. W. Howard Callaway. She attended William Penn Elementary School and Bakersfield High School. She continued her education at Bakersfield College and graduated from Fresno State University. She married Jim Maberry in 1964. Pam taught fourth grade at Munsey Elementary from 1965-1968. She took a break from full-time teaching as she and Jim raised two sons together. While being "Mom" she continued to work as a second grade teacher at Sing Lum Elementary in 1987. She courageously survived the effects of a brain tumor in 1998 to continue teaching at Sing Lum until her retirement.
Pam was active in the Delta Theta Tau Sorority, California China Painters Association, and Ayudantes, an auxiliary of the Bakersfield Assistance League.
Pamela is preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. Tommye Chambless Callaway and Mr. W. Howard Callaway. She is survived by son Jeffrey Howard Maberry and wife Kate and son J. Bradley Maberry and wife Tracy. Pam was "Mimi" to her cherished grandchildren Collin Maberry, Jane Maberry and Benjamin Maberry. She is also survived by her sister Christy Callaway Polson and nephew Tyler J. Polson and wife Melissa.
The family would like to thank the assisted living and memory care staff at the Village at Seven Oaks for their loving care of Pam and kindness toward the family.
