Monica Julia Ball

Growing up she was the baby of the family whom liked to tattle on her siblings, and tell stories. However; she was always the glue. If someone was feeling down and out. She would call one sibling to have them check on the other. "You need to call" so and so... Monica attended North High School dabbled in a little bit of Volley Ball and graduated in 1979.

As Monica grew into adulthood she took to beading jewelry, and painting pottery every once in a blue moon. Being Native American, she was super proud of her heritage, and loved telling other's about it.

While driving around town if she saw a stray animal it quickly became her mission to find it a home. Be it her siblings, friends, and or other family members. She would show up at your door. Like trust me, you need it! We all have a piece of her through her animals!

Monica was full of love and laughter. Always giving and extending a hand to her family and neighbors. She settled into a Security job in her adult life. Go figure, to continue to keep the peace and keep others safe. It's her heart that always shines through. She continued to smile throughout life.

She leaves behind her mother Delia Escalera Hernandez. And her siblings Steve, Timothy, David Ball, and sisters Dianna, Patricia, and Lucy. Her partner Martha Herrera whom she shared her life with for 20 years, and together had one son. Tony Herrera and two grandchildren Little Tony and Ali. Her grandchildren were the pride and joy!

Awaiting to greet her at Heaven's gates was her daddy LeRoy and her brother Greg. What a reunion that must have been...

Monica's family is as numerous as the stars in the sky. She was and is tremendously loved by all her friends and family members. She will continue to be greatly missed.

We love you to the moon and back!

A funeral service for Monica will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
