Graveside service will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Friday, November 28th at 11:00 am for Melba Metzler who passed away November 23, 2014 at a Bakersfield hospital.
Melba Ruth was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma to parents, Will and Etta Miller. At a very young age the family moved to Bakersfield where she attended Bakersfield High School. She met and married Bill Dykes, and they both enjoyed a successful business at Stop and Shop market in East Bakersfield. After they sold the business Melba was employed as Office Manager for Doctor Parrish. Melba and Bill traveled the world and enjoyed a good life. After Bill's passing in 1982, she continued working and traveling with family and friends.
