Marie G Nelson

Marie G. Nelson went to be with the angles January 7, 2018 at the age of 96. She was born and raised in Spencerville, Oklahoma. She was educated and resided at the Goodland Academy. Goodland was founded to educate and house American Indian children in the area. She was proud of her Choctaw heritage. World War II brought her West to California where she lived in Richmond, California. She built troop transport ships for Kaiser. She settled in Bakersfield, married and spent her years as a caregiver at Kern General Hospital later re-named Kern Medical Center. Mom was the matriarch of the family. She was always our caregiver and the one that always loved having family together. Her wisdom, cooking, pie and cake making were the center of our world during many family gatherings.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Virgil and son Richard E. Green. Marie is survived by her son Keith Nelson. Grandchildren Jason Nelson (Crystal), Joyce Trevino (Juan), Penny Green, Richard C. Green, Tina Green, Bailey Long (Adam), Brooke Collier (Tyler). Greatgrandchildren Brianna, Mia, Holly, Jacob, Axton, Ayden, Hunter.
