Louise Brown

Stella Louise Brown was born on 12/19/1943 in Clarita, OK. to Dallas and Naomi Woods. Most knew her as Louise or "Granny Lou". Louise grew up in Arvin, CA and graduated from Arvin High School in 1961.

That same year she married Kenneth Brown and they lived a very happy 55 years together before his passing. They raised three Children Robert Brown, Linda Perkins and Barbara (Jeff) Marshall. Their union was blessed by 10 grandchildren Tyler (Sarah) Perkins, Kelsey (Andrew) Cates, Amanda (Kevin) Kirkpatrick, Shelby (Tyler) Lopeteguy, Kayleigh (Stephen) Robertson, Hank (Summer) Brown, Hannah (Jacob) Holmes, Andy Brown, Abbey Marshall and Parker Marshall and 9 Great grandchildren Brantley, Conner Cates; Ezra, Elianna Brown; Caleb Rowan Kirkpatrick; Charlotte. Harrison Lopeteguy and James Jolly. Louise worked for the Post office as a rural mail carrier in the Arvin area for nearly 30 years. Nursing was her true passion and along with her postal career she was a registered nurse. Louise selflessly cared for many of her family members and any members of the church that were in need. Louise was a member of the Church of Christ and loved being part of Yosemite Bible Camp where she served as camp Nurse, Kitchen staff, Teacher, Etc.. Many will have fond memories of making Candy canes at Granny Lou's and Grandpas. Kenneth and Louise opened their home for many different groups to come and experience the joy of making candy canes. In 2016 Louise suffered from a stroke and now began to require care from her loved ones. She still loved life and being involved with her children, grandchildren and Great grandchildren. Eventually her big loving and giving heart no longer had the physical strength to carry on and on 6/5/22 she passed away in her home surrounded by her family.

Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday June 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 with funereal services Wednesday June 22 at 9:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary.
