May 1947 – May 2024
Linda, 77, passed away at home on May 27, 2024, in Bakersfield, California. She was born May 26, 1947, in Dinuba, California to Sloan and Beulah Prince.
Linda spent her younger years in Saugus and New Hall California where she met the love of her life, Andy. They moved to Bakersfield in the early ’70s. They spent almost 55 years together before Andy passed in 2020. She was a homemaker and only worked after her kids were older at Bolthouse Farms, American Greetings, and finally, at Golden West Casino where she retired in 2014.
She was a loving and giving woman dedicated to caring for her family and the ones she loved. Being the youngest of ten children, she grew up with many nieces and nephews who were like brothers and sisters to her. She felt her family was the most important part of life. While being a wonderful wife, mother, and caregiver, she was also known to be stubborn and those who were close to her knew exactly how stubborn she could be. She enjoyed family get-togethers, shopping, going to the movies, dancing, eating sweets, and collecting angels.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, all her sisters, and many brothers, her husband, and great-grandson Maverick Doyle.
She is survived by her two children, Lauri (Larry) Phillips and Scott (Alexis) Doyle; grandchildren, Curtis (Dawn), Isabel, and Bryan; great-grandson, Brayden; brother Wilburn (Madeline) Prince and many nephews and nieces. Also, many special people she loved, including Aleesia Phillips and her kids, Levi, Eden, and their kids, and many special long-time friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at Hodel’s Country Dining, 5917 Knudsen Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
At a later date, she and Andy will be laid to rest at a private committal service in chapel lawn at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
