Leanne Kay Horn

Leanne Horn was born to Vernon and Virginia Kizziar and resided her entire life in Bakersfield. She graduated from West High and attended Bakersfield College. After a short illness, Leanne went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2012. Leanne was preceded in death by her father Vernon and sister Judy. She is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Ben; her mother, Virginia; stepsons, Austin (Tara) and Adam; and granddaughters, Amy and Morgan. Leanne was employed by Boyle Engineering and AECOM for 30 years until her retirement. She was a dedicated employee and was a friend to many of her fellow workers during her employment at Boyle. Leanne a lover of all animals and considered all her pets her babies. She had a special love for birds and owned numerous over her lifetime. She volunteered at CALM for a short time, but had to stop because of her illness. Vacation time away from home was special to Leanne and she thoroughly enjoyed her time at Shaver Lake and Shell Beach. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10th, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary. Chapel services will be held on Thursday, October 11th, 10:00am also at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd, Bakersfield.
