Preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Pauline Bartlett, brothers Paul Bartlett and Rick Bartlett and wife Karen Bartlett in 1988 and wife Connie Bartlett in 2015.
Larry is survived by his children, Mindee Crawford, Kevin Bartlett, Brooke Hansen, Travis Bascom, Philip Bascom, and Dwight Bascom, brother Steve Bartlett, 15 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and 5 nephews.
Throughout his childhood the family moved often, finally settling in Bakersfield California where he attended Bakersfield High School and South High School. He began his working career while in high school working various jobs including construction, crop dusting, and mechanic. He eventually bought his first of several gas stations located on North Chester and later owned Wible Rd Texaco, College Center Texaco and Olive Dr Texaco. He also owned 1-5 Oasis in Buttonwillow and Santa Fe Wrecking. He also owned Sky Ranch Rotts alongside his wife Connie.
Along with his successful career, Larry enjoyed hunting fishing and trap and skeet shooting competitions throughout the state. He enjoyed drag racing in his younger days. He also had a passion for classic cars. Owning several hot rods and classic Chevys over the years.
Larry was never one to remain idle and was busy with many projects right up to his passing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service for Larry will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306, followed by a graveside service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
