Jorge Huerta Alanis, Pastor Jorge. Cashed in his golden ticket to sit at the right hand of Christ at 11:57 p.m. on November 17, 2020. Jorge was born June 15, 1944 in Brownsville, Texas to proud parents Juan and Julia. He was the last baby boy of 3 children. Juan Alanis, Jose Victor Alanis and Jorge Huerta Alanis. And now the chain again is connected as they all join hands again in Heaven.
At a young age Jorge had a servant’s heart at the age of 8 he was helping deliver newspapers, and shine shoes along the side of his mother. They lived off a lot of seafood in his younger years, so as an adult he wasn’t too excited for it. (Unless his son in law Vicente Cazarez was making a shrimp cocktail.) He loved to play sports with his siblings. Running was a childhood hobby. Right after high school graduation in Texas in the 1960’s he moved to California, with a childhood friend Isidro Gonzalez. Isidro worked the season and returned to Texas at the end of the harvest. Jorge stayed and found work at a local Western Auto Store. He settled here and started a family. Jorge then was drafted into the U.S. Army from January 1967- January 1969. While in the military he would do side jobs such as shoes shining and ironing to continue bringing money in for his family.
After serving our country proudly. And being Honorably Discharged he started his own furniture business in Lamont. 8 years later he found himself working for the Lamont School district driving school busses, and doing maintenance work. In 1981 he reunited with his old friend Isidro in Houston Texas who was now serving the God. Through ministry and God’s grace, Jorge also accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He remained there for 6 months and came back to California a renewed man.
In the summer of 1982 Jorge met the love of his life... Ninfa. Jorge and Ninfa met through a youth baseball league in need of coaches. Ninfa happened to be attending that same church that needed those coaches. Jorge having experience in the Lamont JBA league was glad to step in. They soon had formalized their dating with friends and family, and were married by January 1983. Officiated by Pastor Eliodoro Contreras of Templo Bethel Assembly of God Church in Lamont California. And well as they say the rest is a love story happily ever after… They have been married for 37 ½ years, it would of been 38years… On January 7th .
They both enjoyed ministering together, traveling and preaching the word, they loved playing Chinese checkers and dominos together, and watching hallmark movies on repeat. In his spare time, he loved to golf and even played some big tournaments in Texas.
In 1984 they were called and moved to be a part of Victory Outreach/Alcance Victoria in the fall of that year and began under Pastor Eliodoro Contreras. They continued to Minister and build alongside of the Pastors, and eventually became Pastors of Alcance Victoria, full time ministry. In 1993 they were called up to be disciples of Christ and to share his word worldwide. After being launched out at the World Conference.
The Lord united there blended families together. Jorge Jr., George Robert, Patricio, Carlos, and Christopher Alanis. Manuel, Martina, Sanchez. Nora Guerrero, Robert Sanchez, and Isela Alanis Cazarez. Our children were very supportive of our full time ministry until the very end.
Ninfa and Jorge served as Pastors of Alcance Victoria in Lamont for 20 years. He also served as Regional Pastor of the Northern region for 16 years, covering the churches in Madera, Bakersfield, Chowchilla, Modesto, San Jose, Salinas, Hayward, and Watsonville.
During this time of service, Pastor Jorge was able to launch churches in Madera, Ohio, Bakersfield, Chowchilla, and Puebla, Mexico. Pastor Jorge taught School of Ministry and helped many others obtain their Ministerial License to become Pastors. Throughout these years were able to work closely with the Elders and Regional in many evangelistic events, and celebrated many victories together.
As a minister he had had a passion to hit the streets and do rally’s, pass out flyers, talk to the
homeless, he was humble. He never made anyone feel any less, he served everyone equally.
Jorge had the privilege of having many important roles, and not once did he use his authority
in vain, he was humble and led by example, he would never ask anyone to do something he
wouldn't do.
Pastor Jorge and Ninfa have always been grateful for all of the opportunity to service God in this capacity.
Jorge shared many titles other than Pastor. He was a son, brother, Dad, uncle, grandpa and great grandpa! And Pops, loved to cook and feed anyone and everyone!
As a father he was patient, understanding, he gave unconditional love. His love was so tender and gentle, he was the best listener, he showed his love with his gestures, and actions. He joked around a whole lot. Yet, had this knack for making us feel like time had frozen. He kept us grounded in this fast world. With family dinners and gatherings. In those moments nothing else mattered.
He took in his kids friends and treated them like his own. His love was neutral across the board for everyone.
As a grandpa he woke up every morning and had breakfast ready and served at the counter. Drove his grandbabies to school every day and after school would have little sandwiches and chips ready to go.
One of his many hobbies with his kids and grandkids was yard hopping or running around to swap meets which was bonding time. With all of us kids and grandkids.
A Special thank you to Pastor Sonny Arguinzoni for the confidence and for entrusting us to help lead God’s people. I, Ninfa am so forever grateful and as awlays, will continue to pray for this ministry and God’s perfect will. And to everyone whom has continued to pray over and with our family.
