Buzz passed away surrounded by his children on December 6, 2022, at Memorial Hospital after a short battle with pneumonia. Buzz was born in Salinas, CA on June 29, 1944, to Samuel Youngblood and Dorothy Jarrett Youngblood. He lived most of his life in Bakersfield, California where he attended Bakersfield High School. Buzz was a mechanic by trade and could fix just about anything. He also worked as a driller and roustabout in the oilfields and a salesperson selling cars for Wally Tucker Datsun and conveyor equipment at BA-Valley.
Buzz married at a young age and had two children, Keith, and Kris. His second marriage to Becky Ligon lasted almost 40 years. Jerry loved his family, cars, and the outdoors.
Buzz is survived by his son, Keith Youngblood (Roxanna), his daughter Kristine Mullen (Chad), grandchildren, Sydney Youngblood, Hunter Mullen, and Tilar Brannon and great grandchildren, Diesel, and Lilly Youngblood. Buzz also leaves behind his sister, Judy Neal, brother, Roger Youngblood (Mary), and sister, Barbara Burens as well as many nieces, a nephew, and numerous cousins. Buzz also had lots of friends from his car clubs and Friday night card games. Also mourning his loss are close friends, Danny, and Karen Devin, whom he loved very much.
Graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial on January 27, 2022, at 12:30 p.m.
