Dorothy Doris Davis was born December 4, 1929, in Coy, Arkansas and completed her eternal journey into heaven on July 31, 2021, at the age of 91. She was the youngest child of Morgan and Dessie Clark and spent her early years in North Little Rock Arkansas surrounded by her parents and four older brothers. At the conclusion of WWII, Dorothy met the love of her life Luther Davis Jr. They married in Arkansas on August 30, 1946 and remained together until his passing in 1998.
Soon after marrying, the happy couple relocated to California pursuing their dreams of a prosperous life. Luther found work first in agriculture quickly followed by an opportunity to become a plumber. Eventually they settled in Bakersfield where their first son Ricky was born followed by the arrival of Michael and Joy.
Dorothy loved being a wife, homemaker, and mother. The Davis house was always filled with family, friends, and music, especially Dorothy's favorite, country music. But her greatest joy was supporting her children. She attended countless PTA meetings, scouts, music, drama, and sporting events. She truly set the foundation for her children's future. In the 60s, Dorothy and Luther established Davis Plumbing and Heating where she ran the office and Luther worked the tools - a remarkable partnership. In later years she and Luther enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
After Luther's passing Dorothy enjoyed another 23 years continuing to be there for her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding Dorothy's passing was her husband Luther and her brothers, Vernon, Thurman, Aubrey, and Alton. Survivors include her three children Rick (Lillie) Mike (Laurie), and Joy as well as six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
