Doris and her family moved to Bakersfield when she was young. When she was fifteen years old she met the man of her dreams Jerry F. Lucas and one year later the two of them married on March 16, 1956. Together the two of them were blessed with two children. Doris put all her focus on loving and caring for her family. She worked for Producers Cotton Oil Company for over thirty years. She enjoyed her career very much and managed to put a smile on the farmers faces even on their worst days. Doris was also blessed to work with her sister Lil and her daughter Brenda. She always said that working with them made even the longest days more enjoyable. Doris retired in 1997 and got to enjoy retirement with her husband.
Doris loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed her memorable Vegas trips with her sister and brother-n-law better known to everyone as the Four Musketeers. There are so many memorable family trips she enjoyed with her children and grandchildren like camping and amusement park fun. She made sure we all knew that family time spent together always created memories that would last forever.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents Dave and Marie Curtis, her brother David “Jack” Curtis, her sister Lillie Williams and her husband of 48 years Jerry F. Lucas.
