Born April 2, 1962 in Merced, California – Candy loved to bake, sew, quilt and read. She was the owner of hundreds of books. She also loved Betty Boop, Elvira Mistress of the Dark and all things scary. She was never without a cup of Diet Pepsi and a white concha. She loved Fruit Loops so much that we called her “cereal killer”. Nothing out weighed her love for her family. She would do anything for anyone, all you had to do was ask. She will be deeply missed by all that loved her. We’ll especially miss her cackle of a laugh.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Candalaria “Mi Mama” Martinez who raised her, her father Jesus “Jesse” Murillo and her mother-in-law Nina Jean Griffith.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Michael Griffith, brother Rick Murillo & sister-in-law Rosie Murillo. Nieces & nephews; Richard Murillo II & Andrea Murillo, Veronica Gonzales & Adrian Gonzales, Tino Murillo & Jolene Murillo and Jessica Murillo. Great nieces & nephews; Rosie Chavez & Victor Chavez, Jonathan Gonzales, Desiree Gonzales, Ivory Murillo, Gabby Gonzales, Michael Murillo, Eden Murillo and James Vera. Great-great niece; Nevaeh Chavez.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday October 16, 2019 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary in the Garden of Memories.
