Brian Scott Sullivan, age 42, passed away at his home on January 6th, 2014. Brian was born in Bakersfield and resided near his father, Ron Sullivan and significant other Teri Snow Gamblin, and his mother Illene Matlock and step-father Eric Matlock.
After graduation from North High School where he excelled in baseball and football, he attended and graduated from Bakersfield College. As a young teenager, Brian realized that physical fitness would be a necessity in order to be successful in his outdoor pursuits. He became a Certified Personal Trainer and opened a gym, Pump Time, with friend Pete Strongin where bodybuilding became a full-time endeavour. Back injuries caused Brian to change careers and he worked in finance for several years.
He loved motorcycles and spent many hours riding dirt bikes with his father and friends. He also liked to lake fish, mountain bike, snowboard and snow ski. Brian's big heart and bright smile will always be remembered by those who crossed his path.
Brian is preceded in death by grandparents' Charles and Inez Sullivan and Jack and Ada Nigh. He is survived by aunts and uncles Ellen (Dave) Stout, Bill (Shirley) Sullivan, Tex (Jane) Sullivan, Larry (Judy) Nigh and numerous cousins and life long friends, Brian also leaves behind step sisters Jodie Sprayberry Frodis and Johnna Sprayberry and his dog Rowdy.
Services will be held at Hillcrest Park and Mortuary 9101 Kern Canyon Road on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers please donate to the SPCA or your favorite charity.
