Beverly was a teacher, I recall a story she told me about one of her little girls.  The child asked, "Teacher, are you almost old?"  Beverly laughed and replied, "Honey, I AM old!"  But I knew why the little girl asked that question!  Because Beverly had an ageless beauty, as you can see by looking through the pictures of her life.

Beverly wrote this:

I saw the wall, high and stark
Kroll Way was on the sign
Houses big and much the same
Lawns trimmed and trees were lined

In careful patterns along the street
The owners proud of past success's
Driveways void of clunky cars
No discards, no obvious messes

No homeless roam these streets at night
No poor with humble shacks impose
Predictability abounds
It's missed the fragrance of a rose

The rose I speak of now, today
Is in the realm of human need
The special ones that come to us
In forms unique, in souls so deep

That when they  smile or touch our hand
Or let us help them on life's way
We fill our hearts from life's great well
And say, "We walked with God today."

Beverly, you taught us courage, grace and acceptance of our human frailty!  I will always remember your quick smile and ready laughter!  And especially how your beautiful face glowed when you looked at your Tom!
