Patricia Rose Zaccagnini

Patricia Zaccagnini, 81, of Babylon, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2023. She was born to the late Francis and Julia Curry, on August 28, 1942, in The Bronx, where she went on to raise four children, two Great Danes, three poodles, several cats, a handful of ducks, and one monkey named Mike. Though many women of her generation stayed at home after having children, Pat completed her degree at Pasco-Hernando State College and served her community as a dedicated nurse for over 20 years at Good Samaritan Hospital. Patricia was predeceased by her sister Nora, brothers Michael and Billy, and husband of 53 years Billy. She is survived by her brothers, Dennis and Frankie; children, Billyboy, Roseanne, Thomas, and Tricia; grandchildren Zachary, Dominique, Max, Spencer, Vincent, and Julianna; and great-grandchildren Luke, Shay, and Mason. In addition to her biological children, she was considered a surrogate mother to many. She leaves all of them with many wonderful memories, an attic full of Christmas decorations, and an extensive collection of romance novels. The viewing will be held Sunday, November 11, 3:00-8:30 at Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be on Monday, November 12 10:30 at St. Joseph Church, with burial at Calverton National Cemetery to follow. As the matriarch of a home much loved for its decades-long open-door policy and rowdy get-togethers, Pat had often said that she wanted her funeral to feel like one final party thrown in her memory. Her family intends to honor that last wish.

A visitation for Patricia Rose will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will occur Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:30 AM at St Joseph's RC Church, 39 North Carll Ave, Babylon, New York 11702. A committal service will occur Monday, November 13, 2023, at 12:30 PM at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, New York 11933.
