Osmar Geovanny Vasquez, 17, of West Babylon, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Beloved son of Celia Vasquez-Amaya and Carlos Amaya. Adored brother of Angel Amaya, Jayden Amaya, Ashley Meija, and Anthony Caminos. Loved by his precious dog, Cassie. Son of Kelvin Mejia. Step-brother of Gerson Amaya and Erika Amaya. Cherished grandson of Maria Mejia, Jose Mejia, Juana Vasquez, Ana Celia Vasquez, Papito Bernard Amaya, and Mamita Francisca Amaya. Nephew of Santos Alberto Vasquez, Francisca Vasquez, Lino Vasquez, Jaime Amaya, Patricia Amaya, Bernardino Amaya, Alma Amaya, Vidalina Vasquez, Lidia Vasquez, Guadalupe Vasquez, Pedro Vasquez, Maria de la Paz Vasquez, Delmi Arevalo, Delmy Erazo, Yesi Salvador, Karina Cornejo, Mayra Oliva, Mercedez Mejía, and Cindy Mejía. Cousin of Emily Diaz, Alisson Amaya, Katelyn Amaya, Aveline Amaya, Aidan Amaya, Luis Amaya, Noemy Vasquez, Reinita Vasquez, Maritza Vasquez, Vanessa Vasquez, Karen Vasquez, Marlon Vasquez, Melky Vasquez, Milton Vasquez, Herson Vasquez, Elvin Vasquez, Karina Vasquez, Linito Vasquez, Anner Vasquez, Misael Vasquez, Ruth Vasquez, Elizabeth Vasquez, Doris Vasquez, Gricela Vasquez, and Lilian Henriquez. A junior at West Babylon High School, Osmar's hobbies included football, wrestling, lacrosse, ice skating, and spending time with his friends and family. Osmar will be forever loved and remembered for his enormous heart, the respect for which he gave others, and his incredible sense of humor. He was passionate about music and spending time by the ocean, as well as enjoying good food and sleeping. Osmar will always be loved and deeply missed by each life that he touched. He will live on in the hearts of all of his loved ones who remain behind forever. The family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Thursday, March 23, 2023, 2 pm-4:30 pm & 7 pm-9:30 pm. Funeral mass 9:30 am Friday, March 24, 2023, St. Joseph RC Church, Babylon. Interment to follow at Saint Charles Cemetery.
