We are very sad to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, and dear friend, Mary (Angiuli) Genovas, 86, of Bay Shore, on November 9, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones after a fifteen-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Beloved wife of Frank "Mike" Genovas. Devoted mother of Laura M. DeSimone (Michael F. DeSimone), Frank Genovas (Stephanie Carratu), Thomas Genovas (Barbara R. Genovas), and Christina Genovas Cappelluzzo. Adored grandmother of Deanna C. Holmes (John M. Holmes), Marisa E. Nunziata, Dayna M. Embrey (Scott T. Embrey), Francesca C. Genovas, Alexa M. Genovas, Julianne R. Genovas, Samantha C. Cappelluzzo and Jamie S. Cappelluzzo. Cherished great-grandmother of Riley B. Holmes, Reef D. Holmes, Sabrina M. Caminiti, and Travis K. Holmes. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Francesco and Celestina (DePinto) Angiuli, and her brothers, Vito Angiuli and Gaetano Angiuli. After raising a family, Mary entered into the restaurant business first with her son, Frank, (Francesco's in Babylon, NY) and then subsequently Bella Napoli Restaurant, in Farmingdale, NY together with her husband, Mike, where they ran a family business for over 30 years. Mary was so well-loved by everyone who met her that she was always considered in a true sense, "the hostess with the mostess". Though the food was excellent, many claimed that the reason for their visit for a meal was to see "Mary". Her inner beauty certainly matched her outer beauty. Mary will be forever loved and deeply missed by each life that she touched. The Genovas family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 2-4:30 p.m. & 7-9:30 p.m. Donations can be made in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Boyd-Spencer.com for the Genovas family.
