Kevin Oleaga

Kevin Oleaga (KO), 68, of West Islip, formerly of Lindenhurst, entered into Eternal life on December 12, 2022, after a courageous battle with metastatic esophageal cancer. He is survived by his adored soulmate and devoted wife of 48 years, Suzanne (nee Monteleone). Devoted father of Stephanie (Kevin) Murphy, Daniel (Jeanne), and Heather (Patrick) McBride. Cherished grandfather of Tatum, Hailey, Keira, Dante, Jackson, Reese, Cullen & Zoe. Adored son of Paul & Deloris (Burich) Oleaga. Dear brother of Larry, Cindy Strayer, and Diane Haller, and loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, and godsons. His passions in life were golfing, good food, wine, gardening & spending time at his grandchildren’s sporting events, as well as just having a good time with friends. Kevin was a DSNY retiree & an NLFD Benevolent member. He joined the NLFD in 1972 & after becoming a “Piston Knocker “made lifelong friends with many that he loved like brothers. Kevin will be forever loved and deeply missed by each life that he touched. Family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main St., Babylon, Thursday, December 15, 2022, 7-9:30 pm & Friday, December 16, 2022, 2-4:30 pm & 7-9:30 pm. Funeral mass 9:30 am Saturday, December 17, 2022, Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, West Islip. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kevin's name can be made to Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk, Inc., 505 Main Street, Northport, NY 11768.
