Kathryn Chester, 92, of West Islip, entered into Eternal Life on November 9, 2023. She was born on September 8, 1931, to the late Daniel and Catherine Cain. Kay was born in Woodside, Queens, and moved to Lindenhurst, New York in 1967, to the area known as the American Venice where she raised her family until she moved at the age of 85. Her greatest joy besides her family was her home on Rainbow Lane and her gardens.
Kay is predeceased by her husband and her lifelong companion Robert Bruenig, brothers Daniel and John Cain, her son Timothy Denehan, and granddaughter, Sandie Isoldi.
She was a devoted mother to Kim (Robert Isoldi), Kathy (John Lombardo), Karen (John O’Hora), daughter-in-law Debbie Denehan, and her sister-in-law Eileen Cain.
A cherished grandmother to Timothy (Jennifer), Colleen (Matt), Kerry, Corinne (Gerard), Robert (Jennifer), Lisa (Sean), Zachary, Jessika, Sean, Ryan and Shannon. Great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Nevin, Kaylee, Erin, Max, Aria, Robbie, Tessa Kay, Brandon and Gemma. Also, lucky enough to be a great-great grandma to Eli.
She leaves behind many memories, some great stories, and most of all an unforgettable laugh for which she is known by all. She was always the life of the party, and her biggest wish was to have one big party with her friends and family, which we will be sure to honor.
The family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Monday, November 13, 2023, 3:00 PM-8:00 p.m. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023, Our Lady of Assumption Church, 1 Molloy St., Copiague, New York 11726.
