The daughter of Bernard Giannetti and Dorothy Wilson, Kathleen was born on May 13, 1959, in New Rochelle, New York. Kathleen graduated from Rye Neck High-school in Mamaroneck. She went on to become a Dental Hygienist for the next 25 years. She met the love of her life, Anthony Joseph Ferrara, on July 17, 1981, at Jones Beach Field 6. Kathleen knew in that moment Anthony was the one she would spend the rest of her days with. They married on September 7, 1985.
Above all, Kathleen was a loving mother, dedicated wife/sister, and thoughtful friend. Her hobbies included gardening, singing, karaoke, acting, dancing, crafting, painting, writing and so much more. Kathleen was a pillar of strength and promise in the community. She was very involved with the West Babylon Neighborhood Watch, organized and contributed to local food drives and toy-drives for those less fortunate, and always gave back to the community in any way she could. She hosted an annual pool party at her home for the mentally handicapped. If she wasn’t helping those less fortunate, she wasn’t living. Next to being a mother, helping people in need was her greatest joy in life and she was extraordinary at doing so.
Kathleen was pure joy. She lived out loud. She was thoughtful and selfless in every sense of the word. She went out of her way to help others. Her spirit was infectious and so was her laughter. She was truly one of a kind.
Kathleen will be forever loved and deeply missed by her loving husband, Anthony Ferrara Sr., Her dear brother Bill Giannetti, Her cherished children, Anthony Ferrara Jr. and Joseph Ferrara, Her dear daughter In Law, Giana Ferrara, and Anthony Jr.'s loving girlfriend, Kelsey McDonough. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy & Bernard Giannetti, her brother,Tom Giannetti, and her sons, Michael and Lenny Ferrara.
A memorial mass will be celebrated 11 AM on Friday, December 16th at St. Patrick's Church in Bay Shore. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to take a moment to remember Kathleen and do one random act of kindness in her honor.
