My heart is broken and I feel so lost without you💔.  You were my person in life.  I went to you for everything.  I miss our daily chats and our good night texts.  I keep waking up thinking this was all a nightmare and then reality sets in.  I cant imagine life without you.  You were such a huge part of my every day.  You were an amazing mom and an even better Nana.  You were always there for every event.  You made our family gatherings extra special.  We are so lucky to have all these memories together.  I will cherish them forever.  I know you must be so happy to be back with Billy.  It gives me comfort knowing you are together.  I promise to take care of Daddy.  All of our lives will never be the same without you💔

mom and dad. For all of us. But somehow mom managed to pick herself up and be that glue once again. Months following the loss of Billy were tough but mom made it a point to carry on. But Never Forget. Just like we will never forget u mom. Throughout the last couple of days ive heard stories from friends family neighbors and from some people i never met. One things for sure joy johnston my mom brought joy into so many peoples lives. She is the most amazing woman ive ever known. Mom you are loved by so many friends and family. Now U might have noticed throughout my speech or whatever u call it I use the word love not loved or is not was has not had that's because Mom might not physically be with us anymore but she will forever be in our hearts her spirit will always be at every event or moment in all our lives. Mom I love u so much and will miss u so much. I will never forget u.  We will never forget you. But I know you are with me and all of us always and forever. I love u mom. 

[v] Hello first I'd like to thank everyone for coming and for all the support all the prayers and kind words. I also like to thank my  Uncle George for having the strength to do the services today. Mom is very proud of u. Always spoke very highly of her brother George she loves u so much. Well I wanted to say a few things about my mom. She is by far the strongest woman I know. She always put everyone b4 herself. Even after she found out she was sick. I would come by the house or call and she always had a list of things she wanted to get done. Everything on that list was for someone else never for her. This past mother's day she wanted to buy flowers for Diane christine fran. I told her I'll go pick them out. I knew she wasn't feeling to good that day. But she insisted on coming with me and picking out those flowers. That's how mom is she put her foot down and that was that. There was no discussion.she was coming with me. Regardless of how she was feeling.  Another thing  my mom always did is tell u what is on her mind straight forward. Whether it is good or bad.she let u know what she felt. And most of the time she is right   But honestly it is one of many things I love about her. Mom is especially proud of all 8 of her grandkids john thomas Patrick nick billy kayla grace and julianna. I want you guys and girls  to know Nana loves everyone one of you with all of her heart. Nana and Gramps never missed a single  moment or event in your lives.  Mom is the glue that kept the family together throughout the years. Hosting multiple holidays bringing us all together. I remember all the laughs and jokes Christmas will never be the same. Family is everything to mom. We went on family vacations cruises Disney outerbanks.. and more. That made mom so happy to see us all together having a great time.  One of the hardest times in our family  was when we lost my brother Billy. Her son. That was obviously extremely hard for 

I will always remember the courage and dignity of "Mrs J".  It was a privilege and an honor to have know her and the  family she was so devoted to. Condolences for your loss, may she Rest In Peace.



My dearest family-I know most of these messages will all sound the same because of Joy. No matter where she went or who she saw, Joy shined brightly with an unending amount of love for her family, friends, and even those she met for the first time. 
Everyone knew how deeply she loved Bill, how she treasured her children and how proud she was of her grandchildren. She beamed every time she talked about all of you! 
It’s unfortunate that we didn’t see each other more often but when we did there was always lots of laughter, trips down memory lane and catching up on our lives. I treasure those times and I don’t think she realized how much those moments meant, just how special she is and how much she is loved!! She is not gone-her love will continue to radiate through each of you and in every memory. Joy will be with us FOREVER!

I am truly sorry to hear this news. I was friends with Joy from Dr Poopers office and I knew her for many years. We just recently started texting each other and I was lucky enough to share pics of my daughters wedding with her. She loved her husband and children and grandchildren so very much. I wish I knew earlier to attend the services. VRest in Peace my beautiful friend💕💕💕💕

Joy will always be remebered for her Hospitality and Warmth that she has given throughout the years.  My heart goes out to all of the Family ..losing a Wife  Mother  Grandmother  will leave a scar forever in you hearts ..  know that she lives on forever in  all of the Precious Memories and lifes lessons she has given...

How many times had I heard the story of my grandfather telling my mother “this is Joy and she will now be your best friend “ all the years of heartaches and so much more laughter and happiness and the statement always held true.  After mom had passed you and Bill always continued to watch over me.  I will be forever grateful for every phone call we have had.  And our last laughs together, you, Bill and me about the rock on Jen’s headstone that looked like a potato 🥔, of course Bill had placed it on top lol. Rest easy and I know you two will be dancing again. I find comfort knowing you are so close together in your final resting place.  Luv you forever💕
