Joan Marie Cavanaugh

Joan M. Cavanaugh, who was a long time educator in the Deer Park, Long Island, New York School District, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 11, 2012. She is survived by a loving family and many dear friends. Family and friends may visit at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon Village, New York on Saturday, June 16, 2012 and Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 2:00-4:30 and 7:00-9:30 pm each day. Joan's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, West Babylon, New York at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Joan M. Cavanaugh Scholarship Fund which will be awarded to a student in the Deer Park schools who faces educational challenges or the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, New York either of which can be sent to P.O. Box 63, Babylon, NY 11702.
