Loving husband of Geraldine. Devoted father of Franklin G. Smith Jr. (Colleen); Christine Penet (Craig); Loving step father of Joseph Andriola (Betsy); and John Andriola (Michelle). Franklin was preceded in death by his son James Smith. He is cherished by his 10 grandchildren Kimberly, Franklin, Lindsey, Brady, William, Matthew, Christopher, Ben, Jack, and Sophia. Franklin was an Elevator mechanic and a long time member of International Union Of Elevator Constructors, Local One - New York. He served our nation
proudly as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam Era. In his retirement, he drove a school bus where he made many friends with the people he worked with.
Frank was a hillbilly at heart. Anyone who met him loved him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Mets and he always had a project to do. He will be greatly missed.

Friends may visit at Claude R. Boyd - Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W Main St, Babylon, NY 11702 on Sunday July 14th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Monday July 15th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, . A religious service will take place at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
The Funeral Procession will leave the funeral home for Pinelawn Memorial Park on Monday, July 15th at 12:00 Noon.
Franklin will be laid to rest in Pinelawn Memorial Park and Garden Mausoleums, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY, with full military honors.
