With deepest sympathy to the Morris family and beloved friends.  Deb was an amazing  person with a very big heart and a wonderful sense of humor.   She was loved and respected by all who knew her and will truly be missed.  She will forever be in our hearts.


I will always think of Deb every time I look at the beautiful handmade blankets she lovingly made my daughter who called her "Titi Otro".  It will remind me of afternoons hanging out at the pool, the delicious meals she cooked, and how she was a wonderful mix of brutal honesty and loyalty, especially to her family.

Most of all I will remember her fabulous sense of humor and how she never missed an opportunity to call it how she saw it. We were happy to consider her part of the family and will miss her greatly. Vanessa, Mike and Mila.

This is a difficult time to wrap our heads and hearts around.
Deborah was a tried and true person to all who knew her. She was so well versed and accomplished at her job position and truly cared about the students she worked with and her colleagues.
She will be missed tremendously in and out of NYU. 

I will never forget the out pouring of her care and concern when she found out that I had been going through an illness. Deb was "real"
Hearts are breaking all over New York and beyond at her passing!

My most sincere condolences to the Morris family. I met Deb in 2000 at NYUCD. She inspired me to be my best self, to work hard and to dream big. She was an outstanding director who led with passion, determination and grace. She was the type of friend who would be quick to share an encouraging word...the type of friend who would light up your day with her presence and her smile. The memories we share will forever be engraved in my heart.

Our dearest Deborah is gone way too soon and we are all missing her smile and upbeat personality. She was so kind to me and an amazing friend throughout the years. During hurricane Sandy, our department became homeless and faced an immediate evacuation from the VA. She set up a temporary office for Prosthodontics and its faculty and for months embraced us in the Perio space. I will never forget her generosity and kindness. If I ran into her, it was always mixed with a few minutes of fun exchange.  All the little moments I will always cherish.

I am sorry to hear of Deb's passing. She was an important part of the College for so many years.  I remember some years when she helped with the Annual Thanksgiving drive as part of the community outreach initiative of the AMC (Administrative management council).  She will be missed.

Dear Morris Family and Isa,
Deb and Isa were among the first two people to welcome me when I joined NYU in 2013.
Early on, there were many challenging days and whenever I encountered one or both of them (the inseparable dynamic duo of Deb and Isa) I found myself laughing and forgetting my woes.
One Christmas, Deb created and gifted me with an exfoliating scrub that I use sparingly because I treasure it.
In Feb 2020 we were very excited about our upcoming trip to Marrakesh; Deb was traveling with Stefanie and Emily and me, with my fiance.  We smiled as we reviewed Emily's PowerPoint Itinerary; then the pandemic hit and the trip was cancelled.
My hope is that Stefanie and Emily will invite Isa and fulfill this dream 
trip;  I know Deb will be there in spirit.

June 1986 at the Enlisted Men's Club on the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia. We tore up the dance floor! 

March 1988 Snake Train MTV Spring Break with David Coverdale
Debbie won a contest on Z100 and we flew from NY to Washington DC then took a train to Daytona Beach, Florida and partied all the way down We celebrated her 23rd birthday on this one. 

In our HS group, we had 5 "Debbie's" each with their own unique personality. "Deb" or DJM was the best and brightest of them. She was our class Salutarian and voted Most Likely To Succeed. She was a great leader with a beautiful smile and the best personality. She always gave more than she received and she made life in WB F-U-N!

Deb and I shared so many special times together from the sixth grade on and I regret that I let our friendship fade away.  She was my "firstest" and one of the "bestest" in my life. We had so much in common and did more things together in a short time than most people could even experience in a lifetime--those are memories forever etched on my heart 
 I send prayers with the fondest memories to her family 
She was truly one-of-a-kind + will be missed more than mere words can ever express 🙏💔

It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I say goodbye to Deborah. I will always remember her ridiculously good Christmas egg nog and cookies. I always considered myself blessed to make that  list. And her cinnamon apple pie that she would make this time of year. She taught my daughters how to make it with like a pound of cinnamon. She was a gourmand who lived life! 

But my favorite Deborah Morris memories were drinking too much wine and dancing to 80’s dance music and floating in her sister Stephanie’s pool in the summer. 

The sky is a little darker  and the world a little less without her in it. My deepest condolences to her mother, father, sister and dear friend Isa. With all our love and condolences.

I met Deborah from Cathy and what a lovely time we had on vacation. We became friends and always enjoyed whenever we saw each other.
