Daniel J. Kennedy, 97, of Babylon and The West Side, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. Proudly decorated World War II Navy Veteran with the American Theater Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Medal, and the Victory Medal. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary, in 2001. Devoted father of Janice Kennedy-Fischer and her husband, Victor, Richard and his wife, Diane, Daniel and his wife, Janice, Mike and his wife, Janice, and Paul "Paky". Adored grandfather of Kevin Fischer, Terrence Fischer, Timothy Fischer, Erin Kennedy, Sharon Kennedy DePalo, Dan Kennedy, Cori Kennedy Micelli, Brian Kennedy, and Ally Kennedy. Cherished great-grandfather of Keiran, Liam, Arlo, A.J., Danny, Kennedy, Charlotte, Lily, and Caden. Also survived by his longtime companion, Betty Scarola Heiss. Family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Thursday, March 14, 2024, 2-4:30 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2024. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
