Carol (Corrado) Kamerer, a beloved member of the Babylon community, sadly passed away on December 2nd, 2023, at the age of 87. She is reunited with her husband of 61 years, Fred Kamerer, who predeceased her in 2018. Carol is survived by her daughter, Karen (Kamerer) Watt, and her son-in-law John Watt, her son, Frederick Kamerer, her daughter-in-law Laurie (Pascarella), and her adoring grandchildren, Amy and Kelly, John and Christian.
Carol was an involved resident of Babylon for 46 years. She worked at Kiddie Corral Nursery School for many years. She then joined the staff of the Babylon Public Library, where she worked for 25 years, until her retirement. In her post-retirement years, Carol embraced her snowbird lifestyle with her husband, Fred, and many wonderful friends in Stuart, Florida.
Carol enjoyed spending time with those she loved in every possible way, including big dinners, playing cards, bingo, singing, and dancing. She was an active member of many clubs in Babylon, including the Homemakers, Moose Club, and the Sons of Italy Constantino Brumidi Lodge. There was nothing she loved more than being surrounded by friends and family, and her joyful and exuberant personality will be deeply missed.
The Kamerer family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Funeral 9 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023, with closing prayers at the funeral home. Interment to follow at North Babylon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Long Island Cares Food Bank in honor of our Boodily (Carol Kamerer). There was nothing she loved more than being with her family and her friends and making sure that we were all well fed and comfortable and happy.
