I am very sorry to hear of Carissa's passing. I was very fortunate to have Carissa as a student in my music class at both Belmont Elementary School and Robert Moses Middle School. Carissa was a great student and person. She always stayed after class to help me push in chairs, and we would have very nice conversations. She was one of the most kind, generous, thoughtful, and caring people I've ever known, as well as very mature and wise. When she heard I was retiring, she was concerned that there was something wrong with me, and disappointed that her sister Naica wouldn't have me as a music teacher again. Those are just two examples of how Carissa  cared so much about others. She will be missed by all, but never forgotten.

Carissa was a student in my 6th grade math class. She had a gentle and kind way about her. Carissa brightened up each morning as she passed though the halls to get to class this year.  She always made it a point to chat for a little while.  Her smile was contagious.   I am so saddened by her passing.  May she rest in peace. Carissa will forever hold a place in my heart.

In 2020-2021 she was a student at Belmont Elementary School. I had the pleasure of supporting her as a student. She was an ambitious , dedicated and smart reading student. She  soared and  I know she will continue to SOAR in the heavens!

I had the privilege of having Carissa in social studies last year. To say she was a delight was an understatement. Her smile and thoughtfulness were just a few of her many gifts. She truly was a ray of sunshine. Nobody could have a bad day in her presence. We would often joke that Carissa was late for class. However, that was because she would stay after to  make sure every chair was pulled in and to always make sure she said goodbye and have a good day. Although Carissa was in seventh grade, she made it a point every morning to say hello to her sixth grade teachers.  My morning was always brighter when she would stop by and say hello. 

She was truly an angel and loved by so many.  Heaven truly gained an angel. May her memory be a blessing. Sending my sincerest condolences to her parents, siblings, and loved ones.

I have had the privilege of having you as my student for the past 2 years. You were the sweetest and most kindest soul.
