Born in Ottawa, Rick spent most of his life in and around the Ottawa/Gatineau region. He loved to fish and be on or close to the water. He played hockey and golf before declining health forced him to the sidelines. An avid sports fan, he still enjoyed the love of the game.
Rick found a home working in various trades. When in good health, he found tremendous satisfaction helping family and friends with projects, and was generous with sharing advice. But Rick’s true gift was making people laugh. He could light up any room and find a way to make anyone laugh. For him, laughter was a potent antidote for life’s troubles.
At his core he was loyal and cared deeply for those close to him. Proud and determined, Rick lived his life on his own terms. We will miss his kindness and fun-loving spirit.
He is survived by his parents Rodger and Carmen Doyle; his sister Christine, her husband Paul Skene, and their children Elizabeth and Thomas; his brother Steven, his wife Claire and their children Alexandre, Julien, Cedric, Mélanie.
A celebration of life hosted by the family will take place at a later date.
