It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing Richard (Dick) Lusignan, at age 78, on June 29th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Dick was predeceased by his late wife Patricia Holt. He will be greatly missed by his loving son Richard Jr. (Rick) Lusignan, daughter-in-law Michèle Janveau, 2 grandchildren Karah Picard (Maxime) and Anna Picard (Curtis), 5 great-grandchildren, Owen, Jacob, Xavier, Alekzndr and Ila
He was born and raised in Luskville, QC and later moved to Aylmer, QC. His passion for working with heavy equipment was always very evident; His well-established career was centred around the field of excavation and sewer & water installations. He was regarded by friends and colleagues as an exceptional and proud shovel/hammer operator and would never pass up an opportunity to share his knowledge and expertise that he acquired from his 60 + years experience working in the trade.
He had many hobbies and pastimes, but the one that brought the biggest smile to his face is when he would talk about anything that had to do with TRUCK & TRACTOR PULLING, from his earlier years as a participant to the later years as a spectator, he always had a very keen interest in the sport.
He was a generous and caring man who will always be fondly remembered for his funny stories, his inner strength and strong principles that helped guide him through a life that will be remembered for the love and kindness he gave to others.
The family would like to thank his thoughtful and dedicated caregivers at the MATHIEU-FROMENT-SAVOIE Palliative Care CENTRE for the wonderful care they provided during the final moments and to the CANCEROLOGY DEPARTMENT at the Gatineau Hospital for the care and professionalism that they provide him thru ought the past year.
Treasured memories will forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts with us all, LOVE YOU always Dad, Grandpa “D” as his Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren referred to him.
We cannot express enough gratitude for the outpouring of love and support we have received from family and friends.
In accordance with Dick’s wishes, his remains will be cremated followed by a private family interment at St-Paul’s cemetery in Aylmer, Québec.
Memorial donations to the MATHIEU-FROMENT-SAVOIE Palliative Care Centre or to the Cancer Foundation of Canada are greatly appreciated.
Condolences and tributes can be left on this site.
