I meet Jack when my son Michael married Tracy.We shared a special relationship as grandparent of Mason,Maya & little Connor.We often bragged about our little ones & just how lucky we were to have these special little children in our lives.Michael had lost his father when he was just 11yrs & we were able to share our feelings of lose of a loved one & how to make our lives meaningful again...I loved him dearly & will truly miss my good friend

Jack, and Wychwood, and Pumpkins, and parties. These are the thoughts and things we will remember, cherish, hold dear. Thank you Jack, you will be missed.

Once upon a time there was a man who had the ability to enter a room and create levity, a man who could take the tension of situations and the gift to make one smile in the most difficult situations. Although a target of our teenage pranks, this  good spirited man allowed for us to explore the limits and tease that imaginary line (over the line) so I thank you for teaching us so much…. We have lost a man with an amazing character – but the heavens have gained a high spirited angel… I hope the heavens are ready for Jack….because if he is anything like the jack I knew as a teenager………the foundation is about to be rocked……God bless Jack….God Bless Erika, Traci and Brian…….of and Sheri…..He's back!

Approximately a year ago, I joined St. Mark's choir  Jack was the first person to welcome me aboard.  Since I hadn't sung in a choir since I was a child, I was a little nervous.  The first Sunday after I joined, Jack invited me to some event he was hosting that afternoon.  Since I really didn't know him at that time, regrettably I declined.

Jack sat to the left of me during practice and when he was well enough to attend mass.

Less than 2 weeks before he went home to heaven, he attended mass.  I was so delighted to have him by my side because he had a magnificent voice and, that Sunday, he sang like an angel.  In retrospect, I know, at that time, that he knew that his time an this earth was drawing to an end.

Although I only knew Jack for about a year, I loved him and prayed for him.

He was such an inspiration to me and will continue to do so.

To his beautiful family, I offer you my most heartfelt condolences during this most painful time.

I truly believe  that those who die, never leave us.  Not only do they continue to live in our hearts, they watch over us and guide always.

Jack was a wonderful next-door neighbour. With his little dog, Riley, Jack walked the neighbourhood and befriended everyone he met. One morning we woke up to find a tent pitched on the front lawn between our houses. On his evening walk, Jack had met a young couple from Vancouver who were cycling across Canada. He invited them to pitch their tent in his yard, and the next morning they shared pancakes, coffee, stories, and laughter before continuing on their journey. That was Jack.

Erika, Tracy, Bryan and families. Jack was so proud of all of you and always spoke so positively about you. He enjoyed the Grandchildren much. And brought a lot of joy in his community involvements. Our thoughts are with you.

Jackie's smile and good nature will always be remembered, he was a true family man. Our thoughts will be with the family.

Condolences and sympathies to the Croft family. Through the Ottawa Cursillo Movement, we had the pleasure of knowning the real character of Jack. A committed and spiritual man, he was a living example of true Christianity. Rest in Peace, Jack...and may the good Lord welcome you into the Kingdom where you can join up with your beloved Sherie.

I'll always remember Jack for his infectious smile... no matter what he might have been going through that day, you always could count on him for that. His love for airplanes inspired me, his love for his family and friends amazed me and his LONG dedication to the Aylmer community simply astounded me. Each time I walk past the house on Lake Street I find it hard to believe it is now empty because it has Jack - and Sherie's - touches everywhere, from the gardens, to the gurgling pond, to the countless rocks that my friend Barney Rubble hauled painstakingly here and there. While the house stands silent it really isn't. That house has a soul and Jack's laughter still echoes.
I will miss sitting with a beer on the porch with Jack.  I will miss his hugs and kisses and I miss him telling me he loves me and me telling him I love him back. The last time I saw Jack was several weeks ago when he came to our place for pizza and to make his Brockville music festival arrangements because his phone was out of order. I hadn't seen him for a bit because it was too hard...I told him that and I cried and he hugged me and told me again that it was okay, that he missed me, understood, and loved me. We went away on vacation for close to a month and just three days after our return, before I saw Jack again, he was gone. I am so, so sad that I didn't get to tell him I loved him one last time. But he is Jack so I know he knew anyway.
Rest easy my friend, I love you. There are pumpkins in Heaven too.

We'll sorely miss Smilin' Jack. Always a bright spot in our community lives and so easy to be with. Condolences to the family. May your wonderful memories sustain you in this time of loss of your Dad.

Jack was a loving and fun husband to my sister Sherie....and I know he was a great Grandfather to all his grandchildren....he shared his love of music, flying, skiing and more with his many friends and volunteered his time generously...I hope someone has planted a pumpkin in his honour!

Jack was a friend when I needed one.  He was my spiritual advisor when I had lost faith and needed direction.  He was a counselor when I needed advise.  He was a guide when I was lost and confused. He was my Saint Vincent de  Paul mentor, teaching me how to help others.  We shared a time together that I will always remember.  When I think of Jack, I also think of Sherie, for they were one.  
I am blessed to have met and known such a good man.

Jack was very supportive to myself while raising both my daughters.  He will always be known for his loving, prayerful soul and inspiration to many.  Blessings, Brenda, Kelly and Sarah McGuire

 Jack was a good friend and will be greatly missed.

My 6 year old son (Mason) plays hockey every week, and every week he's watched one of his teammates get "player of the game", a title he has never been awarded.  On Saturday night I explained to him that Papa is in heaven and is now a guardian angel to his grand kids.  Finally Sunday morning Mason gets "player of the game" for the first time.   When I hugged Mason to congratulate him, he said to me that he got it because he prayed to Papa and asked to help him get player of the game.  How fitting that our first sign from dad in heaven be to one of his grand kids!  He loved the kids so much!  We love you too dad!

Rest in peace, Jack...you will always be fondly remembered, along with your beautiful wife Sherie.   Thanks for the memories....
