Mr. Gilles Asselin

1931-2014

Passed away peacefully after a short illness on Friday, March 7th, 2014, at the age of 82. The son of the late Prospère Asselin and the late Léa Hamelin. Devoted husband of Ada (McGee) and loving father of Paul (deceased), Robert, Ken (Sylvie), Jack (Carole) and Jeff (Chantal). Loving grandfather of Eric (Milène), Mélissa (Jason), Michelle, Allicia, Scott, Jacob and Kevin. Proud great grandfather of Thomas. He will be missed by his dear sister Yvette, his brother-in-law Arnold McGee (Rita), his sisters-in-law Gaby, Thérèse and Marguerite as well as by many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thanks all the staff and volunteers of the 6th floor of the CSSSG Hull, for their kindness, caring and support. Thank you also to our good friends for their support and prayers. Family and friends are invited at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Beauchamp Funeral Home, 47, Denise-Friend Street, Gatineau (Aylmer) on Sunday, March 16th, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m., 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, March 17th, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 17th, 2014, at St-Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 160 Principal Street, Gatineau (Aylmer), at 11 a.m. The interment will be held at St-Paul's Cemetery, Gatineau (Aylmer), at a later date. In Memory of Gilles, donations to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, The Cancer Society of Canada or the Lung Association of Canada would be appreciated.
