Peacefully, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, eight days short of her 103rd birthday. Predeceased by husband Roland and son Marc. Survived by daughter-in-law, Hillary, Dennis (Robin), Rollie (Margot) and Jacques (Jacqueline). Loving grandmother of Johanna (John), Jeff (Jessica), Sophia (Wes), Alexa (Jason), Hannah (Luke), Frank and Michael; great-grandmother to Lucas, Zoe, Grace, Olivia, Mia, Lucas, Rowan, Cassius, Peyton and Cooper. Ethel spent her entire life in Aylmer. When she was five, her family moved from the family farm to the city where she and Roland raised their family. She worked for a local notary and lawyer, the federal government, the school board, a butcher and others. She was also active as a volunteer for the Aylmer Museum, Aydelu, etc. She was a knowledgeable gardener and an avid reader, and loved playing cards, especially with her nephews Brian and Wayne and their better halves, Dawn and Francine, and doing crossword puzzles. With help, she lived in her own home until she was 101. She was lucky to have great friends until the end, in particular, Elspeth, Verna, and Fred and Barb. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors in the palliative care unit of the Hull hospital where she passed her last days. They would also like to acknowledge and thank the kind people at Chateau Symmes who took such good care of her, under difficult circumstances. There will be no service, due to COVID. Please consider a donation to your favourite charity in her memory
