My deepest condolences to your entire family for the  loss of your beloved, Zach.  I never met Zach but felt I knew him from my son, Connor Stewart.  Connor cherished and loved Zach and they became close confidants.  I have always said that the Lord had a hand in that random roommate draw. Connor learned about T1D from Zach, unbeknownst he was developing it himself later to be diagnosed over the Christmas break. I remember being in intensive care with Connor when Connor had to call Zach to say, “Guess what Zach?  I got it too!”  Zach was a tremendous help with Connor navigating  through this new chronic condition and they quickly formed yet a new bond they shared.  Our entire family mourns with you and I will forever remember your sweet Zach and your extension of hospitality when Connor moved to Austin.  May our Lord, Jesus Christ, hold you all tightly now, comfort you, and strengthen you as you navigate the difficult days ahead.   With much love - Linda and Mark Stewart.

I didn't know Zach for long, but he was an incredibly kind person. He was the kind of guy you could ask for help and no matter how busy he was, he would stop and help. And then just smile or laugh, like it was no bother at all. He will be sincerely missed.

Zach was a great help to me when I started working with him. Helping me learn the ropes. When I became his supervisor he was always one of the people I looked to to help me out if things got bad cause I knew I could trust him. He will be missed.

Zach and I weren’t the closest but over the 3 years I knew him , we could just walk up and starting talking about things and relate immediately, from the outside he seemed quite and too himself but once you got him going it felt impossible to get him to stop talking and looking back on it that’s going to be the thing I miss the most. From music to games we could find something to relate too and he will be deeply missed. To his family I wish you the best during this time. His silence will be the loudest to me and he will forever be in my memory.

To the family of Zach, I am so sorry for your loss. Zach was taken way too soon. You all will be in my prayers. I just wanted to share how Zach was a part of my life. 

I originally went to elementary school with Zach and can remember him being a friendly and outgoing person. We always shared the same interests as kids and still did when we reconnected at work. I remember asking Zach if he remembered me and he replied “of course man, how you been?!” accompanied with a handshake and quick hug. That’s who Zach was; friendly, outgoing, funny and great music choice! I always went to Zach for music! He was always willing to help and be there for others. No matter what.

Thank you Zach for all the memories, stories and laughs. We will all miss you greatly.

I can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through but if I may share this memory of Zach. 

One day I was in charge of the music in curbside and I just had it on my Spotify playlist. Case Closed by Young Dolph came on…( it’s NOT a work appropriate song ) and right when I was about to change it, Zach comes in and starts rapping it word for word, bopping his head and raising his energy drink up in the air and then I joined in with him. ( luckily no managers were there to hear the song lol ) There are many memories that I shared with Zach but for some reason this is the one that will forever be my favorite. Him just being his authentic self. I will never ever skip this song because I hope that from above he will hear it and we can jam out to it together again. 

Zach, I hope you know you were always truly loved and we will still continue too.

What can I say about Zach. He was the really quiet reserve type of kid. Me being the opposite of that he was always so kind and sweet while we worked together. Very helpful when I needed help getting stuff off the top shelf of something I couldn’t reach when I was shopping. I would always tell him that’s what us short people have to deal with all the time. I guess it’s just a short people problem lol and he would just smirk and continue on. A guy with lots of friends and people who cared about him know that he will not be forgotten. His presence may be gone but his memory will live on. My condolences go out to all his family, friends and anyone who knew this kind hearted soul. May peace be with you all during this difficult time….Rest in Peace Zach may you fly high with the angels….

I didn’t know Zach very well, but he was at HEB when I first went to work there. He was always very helpful when I was new and still figuring things out. I remember just a few weeks ago we talked about music. We talked about metal, jazz, guitar, keyboards. We talked about performing in a band. About how hard it is to stay up late for a show and then go in for an early shift and then trying to squeeze in a nap somewhere before doing it all over again. It was such a good conversation, one I hadn’t gotten to have with anyone at HEB before. My deepest sympathies to his family and may he rest peacefully.

I worked with Zach for a good while I’m not sure when he started but I think he was there when I started and I just remember him being so helpful to me. Although we didn’t talk much at all he was a kind person and always willing to help when needed and I admired that a lot about him. I’m truly sorry for your loss and may he rest in peace.

I only knew Zach for about a year and a half, we met at work. I found him to be funny, helpful, respectful and kind.
We talked alot about diabetes,  recipes,  world events,  politics (those were great conversations) and of course music.
     He was confident in his opinions, honest about his mistakes and always ready with a joke to make you smile.
     I will miss his friendship.  And I send love and prayers of healing to his family and friends!

Zach was one of the funniest people I knew. I met him at HEB and got to know him for 3 years. In that time he never failed to bring a smile to me and everyone he talked to. I genuinely enjoyed our conversations about life and everything in between. Zach made such an impact in my life, he made going to work easier. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss, he will not be forgotten. May he rest peace.
