Ysabel was a long-time AISD Elementary Teacher who taught at Allison, Casis and Travis Heights until her retirement in 2016. Paz was a government and history professor at ACC Riverside Campus. Both were passionate educators that served the Austin Community with dedication and pride.
Paz and Ysabel were most devoted to their children, grandchildren and extended family with whom they cherished every moment.
Paz and Ysabel are survived by daughters, Ana Leticia Peña, Elisa Maria Peña-Kim and husband Yo Han; sons, Jose-Paz Carlos Peña, Pablo Alberto Peña; grandchildren, Andrew, Joshua, Isabel, Juliana, Daehan, Matthew; Ysabel's mother, Maria Guadalupe López; brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 1206 E. 9th Street. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
