Ygnacio Loera of Austin, Texas was called by our heavenly father on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the age of 85. He left this world on his own terms peacefully in his home surrounded by family.
At a very young age, in west Texas he started working as a labor worker in the agricultural industry to provide for his family and making the transition into the construction field for 20 years. He was fortunate to find his role as a bus driver operator with CapMetro where he joined a union and retired after 21 years of service. He had the privilege of traveling around the U.S. amongst an Elite group of colleagues, after competitive bus driving tournaments.
Best known as “Nacho” by family and friends.
Nacho had a passion for music. He spent the talented part of his life as a singer in a band made up of his closest buddies. As an Austin native, it’s no wonder he had such a love for UT football. Hook’em Horns! He left this earth still holding out on the Dallas Cowboys winning a Super Bowl. It often brought joy and excitement in trying his luck on games of chance. Nacho held many titles in his life, from his Elvis vocals to city bus driver, but his favorite role was being a grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with the grandkids, especially over an intense game of Dominos.
He leaves to cherish memories with his wife, Dominga; his eight children, Ignacio Jr, Araceli, JoAnn, Sylvia, Cynthia, Arthur, and Ignacio Jr.; his brother, John; and his sister, Rachel; grandchildren Anthony, Evan, Lyla, Mario, Paul Anthony, Jackie, Joel, Ashley, Joshua, Crystal, and Jordan; along with several
great-grandchildren.
Ygnacio was preceded in death by his son, David; parents, Juan and Paulina; brothers, Arthur, Elias, and Jose; and sisters, Maria, Rosa, and Carolina.
