She is survived by her mother Daniela, father Nedhal, stepfather Sean, and brother Leo.
Yazzy was a bright light and brought joy and happiness to all that knew her. She was an avid skater and was a star of the Austin roller derby scene for years. Many knew her by her derby name, “Prima Basherina”. She was a fierce competitor and made up for her tiny stature with a fighting spirit and resolve that we all admired.
She had a huge heart and often put other’s needs ahead of her own.
Every day we hope you take the opportunities to find laughter and light, dive into your passions, and spread your love! Know that one day, some day, decades from now or soon to come…your light and the lights of those you love will forever switch off. See the beauty and feel the magic that surrounds you right now and remember that you are never alone.
May your heart feel the fire, love and gratitude from Yazzy-today and every day.
