
Wilma always made me feel so welcome in her home.  She was so lovely and gracious.  It has been over twenty years since I have lived in Austin, and even longer since I last saw her, but I can still picture her sweet face and hear her gentle voice.  What a blessing she she must have been to her family.  I am so sorry for your loss.    Pam, thanks for introducing me to your mom.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mrs. Rector was such a pleasant person.  It was a privilege to know her.  She always had such a sweet gentle way about her.  I know she will be greatly missed.

I will sincerely miss my conversations with Aunt Wilma at our family gatherings.  She always kept us up to date with that part of our extended family.  I cannot recall ever seeing her without a smile on her face.  May God bless her and her family.



We'd like to say thank you to everyone that found time to drive in to attend Wilmaâs service and for your thoughts and prayers and also for the thoughts and prayers of those who were not able to attend. Some may be heard but all are felt by the direct and indirect family of Wilma.    Mom, Wilma or Mrs. Rector as many called her, provided a safe haven for those who came into her home. Some thought of her as naÃ¯ve. She choose to be naive. Her pure thoughts and beliefs allowed her the luxury of not knowing or thinking of impure thoughts or actions. While appearing to be un knowing, it was her choice to pierce thru the impure transparent ways and see the solid truth and good in anyone. She was not one to complain. She chose to persevere thru the daily chores and find no time at the end of the day for more work with no mention of her own desires. She wished for more time simply to be able to have the ability to perform more work. The kind of work that offered no true monetary rewards but rather the type of work that offered her happiness in the accomplishments of her efforts. Truly the epitome of the old clichÃ© that happiness is a state of mind. She was tired but she was happy at the end of every day with what she had and what she had done and only wishing she could have done more.    Yes, there was time for fun. Cooking, making jelly and pickling Japanese cucumbers, it was a thrill for her to see everyone enjoy the fruits of her labors. She also managed to find time to support Leon, her husband in his activities which ranged from playing in a band â which she had made Vests for all of the band members, to the American legion Post 183 group which was a tightly run organization of volunteers which she was one of and provided the roll of treasurer for a term. It was a special group of people that had provided a special service to this country which few had survived to remember those who did not.    Her education was limited to that of which being raised in the country could offer her, not the limits of her ability to learn. She could have written books that some today only provide a portion of the knowledge she had the capacity to offer. If she would have known it was so simple to publish and distribute the knowledge that came to her naturally, she could have passed away a financially wealthy woman rather than taking the wealth of knowledge she is taking with her to her grave.    Only a portion of her knowledge would be enough to solve the problems of the entire World, If they would just listen.    Her religious beliefs were the nucleolus of her stead fast and never die beliefs of right and wrong. The church was her fuel station and she got some fantastic mileage and especially since she could get a week or two between fill ups. She was very efficient.    Her kindness and energy can be passed along thru her heirs, everyone that was touched by her.    Today you can all consider yourselves recipients of Wilmaâs inheritance if you can remember a smile, a taste of her good cooking, her gentle touch or kind word. - Where it came from is not as important as it is to inherit and share it because it will be far more valuable than any lottery you could ever win. Take it home to share with all of those you love or just meet and pass it along since sheâs not able to do that any more.         It was a beautiful day the day she passed. Leon, Pam and I were by her side when she passed. She passed with a gentle breath shortly after her granddaughter Crickett had said a prayer with her and left for home. She passed knowing that you all loved her in one way or another so with that, I thank you again for those who came and those who were not able to come and those that may find out of her death and think of her days, monthâs or even years from now.    God bless you all and god bless Leon as he was instrumental in her being who she was. They were a pair of an obvious attraction.
