Wayne G. McKnelly

Wayne G. McKnelly died on the evening of August 23, 2015 at the age of 82. He was born on December 5, 1932 in Champaign, Illinois. He is the oldest son of J.G. and Lorraine McKnelly. He graduated from Mahomet High School in Mahomet, Illinois and from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.

The consummate salesman, Wayne worked for several companies, including Borg Warner Educational Systems and Lexia Learning. While at Lexia Learning, he was awarded top salesman in the United States.

He loved making and keeping friends. Going out to coffee with friends was his favorite pastime. He loved to travel and always had his atlas out looking for the next road trip. Most of his travel was planned around where he would eat.

After a whirlwind romance, he married Rosa Lee Kendrick in October of 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri. They had two daughters, Melissa and Amy. They were happy to add a son-in-law, James Waters, and two grandsons, North and Reid. Wayne loved chasing the boys and laughing with them.

The family will celebrate Wayne's life with a service at Grace Bible Church on 2100 Shell Rd, Georgetown, TX 78628 on Wednesday, August 26th at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or Samaritan's Purse.
