Wanda Lou Casey Graham passed from this life on Monday, November 28th, 2016. She went in peace, surrounded by family at home. It is difficult to describe the force that was Wanda. She lived a long, rich, and completely unconventional life. By most accounts, she was a good 30 years ahead of her time, if not more. For as long as many of us can remember, she was growing her own organic food, practicing yoga, using Chinese medicine, studying Ayurveda, and discussing all of these things with great enthusiasm.
She was a lover of music, mostly gospel and country, and played the piano into her very last year of life. She loved wide open spaces and though she never stayed in any one place for too long at all, she could often be found in the country. She was an ardent supporter of women's reproductive rights and Planned Parenthood. She was unpredictable, which could be hard for her family at times, but despite that, she was still able to maintain a very close relationship with her three daughters and four grandchildren throughout her life.
Her family feels privileged to have shared their lives with her and completely grateful for the lessons she imparted to them and to others that knew her: to look deeper, explore the mysteries of life, believe in miracles and go off the beaten path. Wanda pretty much always did.
A celebration of Wanda's life will be held at a later time.
