Ann Scott found eternal peace with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday October 24th, 2023. She was a beloved, devoted, and selfless wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Ann was born Virginia Ann Hasse, in Llano Texas and was the daughter of Samuel Charles Hasse and Dorothy Todd Hasse later becoming the stepdaughter of Marvin (Pinkie) Elliott. She graduated from Llano High School then continued her education at Southwestern University before graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Education.
After graduating from UT, she briefly worked for the Texas Industrial Accident Board before becoming a fulltime mom. She then entered a long career as a real estate agent then broker in Austin starting as an investment sales agent with Lee Phillips then focusing on commercial real estate with RL Buford and later Sasser Properties. She then returned to residential real estate as a broker associate with Capital Properties before retiring with Turnquist Partners.
While balancing family and a professional career Ann had a passion for volunteering with many organizations including the West Austin Optimist (now West Austin Youth Association), The Assistance League of Austin, Symphony League of Austin, Delta Delta Delta Sorority Alumni Association and for over 50 years she was a devout and active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church serving on several committees as well as elected both Deacon and Elder.
Ann’s family always came first, and she loved volunteering with school events and never missed a game or tournament. She is predeceased by her husband Albert Lee Scott. She is survived by her sons Michael “Mickey” Scott and his wife Haydee, and Thomas “Tommy” Scott and his wife Lida. She is also survived by her grandsons Barret Scott and Oliver Scott who lovingly referred to her as their Granny Annie.
The family would like to thank the nursing and medical staff at Westminster Manor as well as Hospice Austin for their wonderful care these past years. We are very appreciative.
A service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3208 Exposition Blvd, Austin, TX 78703 on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 at 2:30pm.
