Victor U. Sosa Sr.

Victor U. Sosa Sr., age 81 of Austin passed away on October 28, 2020. He was born on July 28, 1939 to Porfido and Beniga Sosa in Austin, Texas. He attended Travis High School. He was a Commercial Plumbing Contractor – a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union 286. Victor loved his Texas Longhorns.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Reynaldo Sosa; brothers, Earnest Sosa, Adolph Sosa; sister, Isabel Huerta.

Victor is survived by his son, Victor Sosa Jr.; grandson, Anthony A. Sosa; granddaughter, Andrea Valenzuela; mother of his children, Teresa Sosa; numerous nieces and one nephew.

Visitation 4:00 pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest.

Entombment will follow at Assumption Mausoleum.

Currently, due to the substantial public risk, city and state government mandates that social gatherings of limited amounts may occur with strict social distancing protocol. Current COVID protocols for Travis County, guests must wear protective masks at all times while inside the funeral home facility and practice the recommended six foot social distancing. Weed-Corley-Fish South will limit our capacity to 70 guests at a service while enforcing all distancing and hygiene standards. We appreciate your understanding.
