Me: How ya feeling bro

Batman: Still feeling like I'm at 40%. Still in the hospital, and most likely here another week or two. Just making good personal choices when presented the opportunity; walking, focusing on kindness, eating even with poor appetite...

Me:Keep fighting until better days!!! 🙏🏾
Batman: That's the goal. It doesn't feel like it, but I've just got to be patient. 20 hard days now is nothing compared to 20 good years down the road.

Trey aka Coach Soto was the soul of our strength and conditioning program 💪.
He built strong men and led by example. Soft hearted but strong as Batman... Trey helped me both condition these young warriors as well as develop their character, grit and championship effort! He planned and planned and constantly came up with new ideas and strategies. He took care of our athletes from head to toe and always took responsibility...even for things that didn't go right. He was always there!!! Always!!! He even managed to do his Iron Man workouts during and after practices!!! We would have never created the BEST OF LASA FOOTBALL WITHOUT HIM. We would have never taught our young men to release the BEAST inside without his example! It all started with Trey! Rest easy BATMAN! WE LOVE YOU.

I am so sorry for your loss. Trey was an amazing man that loved life! He was committed to his students and worked tirelessly to support the students and their families. He was adored by the campuses that he served and I am forever grateful to have known him.

We worked with Trey at CPHS for several years.  He made a difference to so many here at CPHS.  He was such a Batman believer!  He enjoyed life to the fullest and instilled in us to take care of ourselves. Always giving out health tips and exercises to do.  His smile was infectious, his kindness so dear. The kids here looked up to him and responded to him and his teachings.  Wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow.

Working with Trey at CPHS was such a joy. The kids loved his positive spirit and the staff loved his kind heart. He made my first couple years there so welcoming and always checked on me. There is not a sweeter soul. The heavens have another good one riding his motorcycle and wearing that Batman cape. Prayers to Paula and the rest of his family 🙏

I’ll never forget when I met Trey. I hired him at Hendrickson High and we were fast friends. He introduced me to some of the most amazing people. He was so gentle and fun loving. When I moved into my new house, he came and put my bed together and helped move some things. I told him it might be easier to lay down to put the bed together, then to stand up. He said his dad taught him that you always do a job on your feet if it is possible. And that’s the kind of guy he was.  He was always willing to help. Always there for everybody. Always looking for the bright side. And full of integrity. This world was better off because of him. He was a blessing to so many. I could go on with so many memories.  So many well wishes of peace and comfort to his family and all of those who he impacted. He was a strong, gentle, loving, compassionate, amazing human. You will be forever missed, Trey, but your imprint on this world will live on through those who has the pleasure of knowing you.

I am so sorry for your loss of Trey. I knew him while at CPHS. His smile would light the room and he had such a kind heart.  I loved seeing him work with the kids and he was an inspiration to everyone he knew and  worked with.  Sending prayers of comfort and peace your all the family. Heaven has another angel to watch out over all of you and care for you from his heavenly home. God Bless.

My heart and prayers are with the family.  Trey was a huge bright light  here on our CPHS campus when he was here.   No matter what he was going through he still shined above everyone else with his amazing smile , his encouragement for others and kindness to students, faculty  and staff here at Cedar Park High School.

I personally received a random thank you note of gratefulness from him that I have always cherished.  We were blessed and thankful to have known him .

Borden county. Sure had a lot of fun memories here with Trey jumping on the trampoline and playing hide and go seek. We used to act like ninjas or power rangers on the trampoline at uncle Bob and aunt Terri’s  house.

Many moons ago in 1990 Trey and I would have been about 3 there.

50th weeding anniversary of Dorothy and Gerald Buchanan. Lots of cousins there! Soto’s, Nortons, and Buchanan's.

Trey was truly an exceptional young man & it was always a pleasure being around this duo.  Paula, my sincerest condolences go out to you and all of your family. Sending you so many hugs and love your way. ♥️ Gloria

My heart goes out to all of Trey’s family for this untimely loss. He was a good man, a wonderful teacher, and a kind soul. 

I met Trey when he was subbing in Pflugerville ISD and I was running a high school behavior program. Finding great potential talent for special education was always one of my passions, and despite his desire to teach PE at the time, I knew instantly that Trey was meant for sped. When  I joined Leander ISD later, I was able to recruit him as an educational assistant at Wiley MS and was proud to refer him to a teaching position at CPHS, where I often heard about the great things was doing and how well-loved he was by students and staff. 

I am profoundly saddened at the loss of such a vibrant young man. The world is a better place for Trey having been part of it.

Coach Soto was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Every day in the wee hours of the morning, he would let us in to the building after cross country, despite know we would steal all the hot water from the shower and cause a general ruckus, and did it always with a smile. He took time out of his day to teach me how to clean and press, and was encouraging and helpful at all times. I was incredibly saddened by the news of his passing, and I hope he is remembered as the kind, vibrant, and strong man he was by every student he helped. Coach, we will always miss you and hope to honor your memory.

We all will have precious memories of Trey and all he touched. I pray the Lord will comfort his loved ones through this very difficult time. I’m so glad he’s free from his pain and new again.
